The new year brings with it a lot of change. A lot of it is positive. But at the same time, a lot of it is also negative. For example, we’re told to stop procrastinating and getting ahead of ourselves. But in the process, we often sacrifice valuable opportunities.

In my personal experience, it’s very easy to get caught up in the need to get things done and the desire to complete work that is never finished. For example, I have a client who says that they feel they have to do everything on their list. This is usually because they feel they have to get the job done, which isn’t always the case.

I have made a few mistakes in the past. Its very easy to have a tendency to jump into work when it isnt even supposed to be completed. This sometimes leads to unneeded stress and anxiety. Also, when we don’t take it slow and stop and think about what we are doing, it can lead to procrastination. Another mistake I’ve made in the past is getting behind on emails, often because I thought I had to get everything done.

To avoid these problems, I suggest writing down the list of things you need to get done. For example, if you are writing a task list, write down all the tasks you need to complete, and then write down the things you need to do in order to complete it.

In my experience, writing down the things you need to get done is the best way to avoid procrastination. I have to admit that I have been guilty of this myself. I never really got behind on my emails in the past, partly because I thought that was the best way to do it, and because I was actually writing down what I needed to do and forgetting to do it.

I have a friend who is using Pro Tools to write down the things she can do that she could actually do. Or if you want to, you can use something like a spreadsheet or an Excel spreadsheet and say, “I don’t write anything, but I can do it. And I can do it.

Yeah, you can just write down whatever you want, but you should also be recording what you can do to get the job done.
